Philadelphia Eagles star safety Malcolm Jenkins recently featured Emerging Leaders Fund grantee organization Youth Sentencing and Reentry Project (YSRP) in his weekly Philadelphia Citizen column, which focuses on criminal justice issues in Philadelphia.

Jenkins discusses his experience of meeting with people who were sentenced to life without parole as children (also known as “juvenile lifers”) in Harrisburg this past October. He also highlights the fact that Pennsylvania leads the nation in juvenile life sentences. Jenkins encouraged readers to support the work of YSRP, which works with lawyers and clients within the legal system to help juvenile lifers and their families. In the column, Jenkins praises YSRP as being “committed to making Pennsylvania and Philadelphia a better place.”
