Grant Programs
Organizations can apply for:
Small Grants. These grants are generally in amounts between $5,000 and $15,000 per year. Requests for multi-year grants (up to three years) will be considered in the Small Grant Program. These grants are available for program and project support, as well as for general operating expenses. A Letter of Intent is required for organizations that have not received funding within the past three years.
Large Grants. These grants are by invitation only; therefore, a Letter of Intent is always required. Through its large grant program, the Foundation is looking to help move an organization to a new operational level, support innovation or test new approaches to enduring problems, fund one-time special needs, and/or provide support at the end of a capital campaign. In particular, the Foundation is interested in supporting programs that:
- Increase access to and consumption of nutritious food,
and advance reforms in the food system; - Advance educational equity in grades pre-kindergarten-12;
- Increase access to health care; or,
- Increase awareness, protection and preservation of the natural environment
