Eligibility
Letter of Intent:
- Small Grants: Organizations that have not received funding from the Foundation in the past three years are required to submit a Letter of Intent. The Claneil Foundation will notify you by mail as to whether or not a full proposal will be invited for consideration. Organizations that received funding in the past three years may submit a small grant proposal without a Letter of Intent.
- Large Grants: All organizations seeking large grant funding are required to submit a Letter of Intent. The Claneil Foundation will notify you by mail as to whether or not a full proposal will be invited for consideration.
Geographic Focus: Emphasis is placed on organizations located and serving communities in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. Letters of Intent are also considered for organizations outside this region that have been invited to apply in the current cycle by a member of our Board of Directors.
Eligible Organizations: The Claneil Foundation has set the following criteria for eligibility:
- the organization is located and/or serves constituents within the Foundation's grantmaking region; or
- the organization has been invited to submit a proposal by a foundation director;
- the organization has been certified as tax exempt under section 501 (c) (3) and 509 (a)(1), (2), or (3) of the Internal Revenue Code; and,
- the organization is not a private foundation.
- if the organization is a religious institution, it may only apply for nonsectarian activities.
