Letter of Intent
Only one letter of intent, regardless of result, may be submitted per calendar year.
In the Community Grant Program (grant funding ranges from $5,000 - $15,000)
Organizations that have not received funding from the Foundation in the past three years are required to submit a letter of intent. The Claneil Foundation will notify you by mail as to whether or not a full proposal will be invited for consideration. Organizations that received funding in the past three years may submit a grant proposal without a letter of intent. Please conserve your resources, and do not submit additional materials with the letter of intent.
In the Special Project Fund (grant funding ranges from $30,000 - $100,000)
*Spring cycle only (Fall cycle by board invitation)
All organizations seeking grant funding in this category are required to submit a letter of intent. The Claneil Foundation will notify you by mail as to whether or not a full proposal will be invited for consideration. Please note: letters of intent for consideration in the Special Project Fund are accepted during the Spring funding cycle only (see deadlines below).
General Guidelines for Letter of Intent
The letter of intent should describe your organization (please include the size of your operating budget), and the purpose for which funding is being sought. Include the total project costs and the requested grant amount. Please conserve your resources and do not submit additional materials with the letter of intent.
Deadlines for the Letter of Intent
The Claneil Foundation offers two grantmaking cycles per calendar year. Unless otherwise determined (see above), each grant cycle begins with the submission of Letter of Intent. The letters must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on:
- December 1 for the Spring Cycle
- June 30 for the Fall Cycle
Special Project Fund letters are accepted for consideration in the Spring cycle only.
If a deadline date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be automatically extended to 5:00 p.m. EST on the next business day.
Applicants must submit through our online application system. Please note: the Spring 2013 Letter of Intent process is now closed. The Fall 2013 Letter of Intent online submission form will be available beginning Friday, May 31st through our website.
Please note: we will only accept electronic submissions.
